If you've not heard the story of how it all started, let me retell it here.
Amelie woke up on travel day with a fever. A few hours before we had to leave she threw up on the living room rug. Then threw up on the bath tub. Poor kid.
Our first flight (of 3) she moaned the whole flight. Poor thing felt terrible. Then she suddenly started to cough - threw up - coughed while throwing up and with perfect aim, hit the guy in front of us (threw the crack in the seats!). He was upper 20's and horrified when he realized what it was! I apologized, wiped, apologized, wiped. He luckily had an extra shirt on him. He was nice and after coming back from changing asked how Amelie was and we promptly reminded him that he's one of the lucky few who now have a story to tell every Christmas for the rest of his life! It's not every day you get thrown up on - on the plane!
After landing, we remained on the plane and picked up more passengers. Amelie threw up again!
Flight #2 - moaned the entire flight.
Get off in Chicago - get us as cleaned up as possible and then Amelie threw up again in her stroller! Now we're on our LAST change of clothes for her that we packed in our carry on. After throwing up, and getting changed in public and cleaning it all up, she is miraculously healed and wants to run around and be a kid!
While in MN she did throw up two more times but she's a trooper!
This was taken after the last throw up session and her feeling amazing! Between Ben and I, we rode these suckers a good 40 times between our flight!
At the cabin playing with Grandma's toys.
Not sure why the photos are out of order - another picture in Chicago, feeling like a champ!
After finding a stick horse and being shown how to ride it, she and the pony became good friends!
Walking out on the frozen lake with Dad. No snow, but the ice was a good 8" thick! The other kids ice skated and we pulled Amelie around on a sled!
3 generations: Ben's mom Liz, Ben & Amelie all on the lake.
Wind blowing what little snow was left from the last snowfall (way before we got there) on the lake.
Amelie with her horse (again, not sure why out of order - blogger having issues)
Being silly with tape on her nose! Silly girl, I don't even know where she got it from.
Amelie found her stroller by the front door and insisted that her grandfather push her around the house in it. She loves stroller rides.
Ben ice skating on the lake.
The snow man that everyone built with the tiny bit of snow found on the lake.
Christmas Eve we made Reindeer donuts!
Christmas Morning - looking at stockings and Santa Gifts.
After Church, opening all the gifts. She loves her Cootie game from her cousin Bitsy (as in the Itsy Bitsy spider - or at least that's what Amelie thinks and insists on doing the hand motions to the song every time she sees Bitsy.
Opening her gift from grandma & grandpa.
She got an interactive storybook bunny with two books. You read the story and when key phrases are said the bunny talks. Very cute and cool.
The weather was so nice that we went for a walk in the state park that Ben's parent's cabin is located in.
Being pulled by a sled on the ice. If you can't sled with real snow, we'll still make use of the sleds!
Amelie and her cousin Rachel feeling the ice and looking for fish. The sound of the ice cracking and moaning was amazing! A little freaky when it cracks next to you, but cool all the same.
Enjoying the ride.
There is no such thing as seeing the family without a few games and Phase 10 sure did seem to be the game of the year! Drew excited about his hand!
Cousin Raisa and Amelie hanging out together.
Ben showing off his strength and Rachel showing off her balancing skills - the three younger kids all took advantage of Ben's super sonic strength.
Us with Ben's nephew Brenden and his sister Raisa.
In St. Cloud, it finally snowed! So we bundled up our marshmallow and went out!
Giddy up Ben - he pulled us around in the sled with real snow under our tushes!
The ultimate snowball fight. Who can build the biggest and who can throw the hardest?!
Amelie staying out of the snowball fight and attempting to walk in her multi layered suit.
More sledding. We wanted to enjoy it while we could.
Christmas was wonderful and fun and relaxing and we are so glad we got to see some snow while there!
