I know I've not been great about posting a lot on here but there are a few things I really want to remember...
1. I am sooo proud of Amelie. She has had a certain fear that she has been battling for 10 months. This has been a struggle for all of us as she has slowly worked through it. Well I am so proud to announce that for the last month she seems to have been able to overcome her fear and as her mother, I could not be any prouder of her. It was certainly a hard thing to do. And though bribes and begging never helped, she did decide to be brave and one day at a time, has triumphed over her biggest fear. Really I am soo proud of her!! This is HUGE for us.
2. Yesterday, Amelie and I were making banana bread. And though for the past year she's been cracking all of my eggs for me, she's been too scared to open them. (Different fear than above.) She was always worried about the egg getting on her hands. However, yesterday she did it! She cracked and OPENED the egg all by herself. And she only got two tiny shells in the bowl - both of which were easy to pick out. So stinking proud of her!!
3. In our house, as I am sure with most homes with small children, we discuss pooping, farting and peeing out in the open. It's really just part of our every day conversation. Well Amelie has a new phrase she likes to say when she toots - her buns are a flappin'! Funny kid!
Quick update on Ephram:
10 months old.
Loves anything with sugar.
GUARANTEED to be my baker. Dying to help bake but not quite big enough.
In general a happy kid.
Loves to give goofy faces to everyone. Very expressive.
LOVES to be held.
Grandpa Heath is his favorite because he can get grandpa to do anything he wants.
Knows how to tell us when he's done eating by waving his hands in the all done method we've taught him.
Confidently crawls up stairs in a matter of seconds.
Walks. (Started walking at 9 months 4 days). However he still prefers to crawl. But starting today he's been walking more and more to get to where he wants.
Eats more than Amelie at every meal. Cooked carrots are his favorite veggie, loves meat, cereal, pasta, sandwiches, anything really.
Can eat an entire ice cream sandwich without blinking an eye.
Weighs 24.6 pounds. Weight has slowed down since we cut out night time feedings. But he is still REALLY tall.
Wears 18 month clothes.
In a size 3 diaper, soon to be size 4.
Hates having anything on his feet - socks or shoes.
It takes two people to change a diaper - ALWAYS. One to do the dirty work and one to distract.
Easy to smile.
Points to where he wants to go and what items he wants you to pick up.
Says Mama, Dada. Understands a lot.
Understands No sir and no thank you and in general will listen to you.
LOVES all things electronic.
LOVES to be outside.
Sleeps from 8 pm - 7 am most nights (this is huge. Up until 9 months he was still waking up every 2 hours to eat).
Has 5 teeth. 3 bottom, 2 top.
LOVES his sister.
Gives the best wet, open mouth kisses with a tiny lick.
Bites when angry but this is rare.
Still takes 2 two hour naps a day and goes down SUPER EASY.
Squishy and big and lovable.
His hair is blonde but in the sunlight it is strawberry blond with red shining through.
Eyes are gray but we suspect over time they'll turn more into mine - green/blue.
Loves tubs and doesn't understand the concept of not standing and walking around the tub full of water.
Hates having his car seat face backwards. Is very ready to face forwards and vocal about it too though on most car trips he does great.
Loves the bathroom!!!
Pretty much a rock star kid.
