Ideas...Ideas....Ideas...

Ok, for all those of you who work in young women, young men or have kids...here are some of our BEST LOVED ideas from our ward. I work with some AMAZING women who are creative and fun. And this past year has been unforgettable! So I thought that some of you might be rusty on new ideas so here they are...in random order.

1. Bishop appreciation night. Our bishop loves to go camping. So we learned how to make peach cobbler in a dutch oven and Ziploc baggie ice cream. If you want the recipe just let me know. We also played Bishop Land (a spin off of candy land). It was a TON of fun and our bishop really seemed to have fun and he learned how to do some new things.

2. Armor of God - We had a lesson on the Armor of God one Wednesday. We learned about what each piece of armor represented. Then we each separated into groups. We each then made that piece of armor that we were assigned out of tin foil, while also learning more about what the purpose of that piece of armor was. Then after everyone made their piece, we decorated a leader with it. It was hilarious! She looked amazing in tin foil.

3. Cooking Night. We had a night of teaching the girls how to cook some basic things that they can do at home. We first made bread in a bag then cream cheese won tons and strawberry shortcakes. (ask for recipes). This was a great night and we all learned a lot!

4. Holy with out spots. We learned how to live clean pure lives. How to keep our bodies and minds clean from Satan's traps. Then afterwards we all went outside and everyone was given a knee-high pantie hose filled with flour. We were told to stay within certain boundaries and then sent off to attack each other with our flour socks. Who ever had the least amount of flour on themselves won! None of us could stop laughing it was so much fun!

5. Cannery - We worked at the cannery one night and canned 250 cans of food for people at church. This was a night that surprisingly was one of the girls favorites!

6. Thank you videos. We do this extra special thing for certain people that we want to thank. But only for extra special people. We choose a song and break out into groups (usually by class) and then lip sync and dance to the song while video taping it. VERY embarrassing but oh so fun. This also makes a GREAT memory for a later date!

7. Homemade cards. We made homemade cards a few times and these were really fun. We all just sat around chillin and and scrapin' cards. We also did bath salts and homemade face masks too.

8. Our sleepovers are all alphabet themed. We do an annual P Party. Each girl is supposed to bring a unique P snack to share. We had pickles, pixie stix, pringles, peanut butter spoons, and much more. We "partied" where we all learned new dances, and played Pop it - where you tie balloons around your ankles and attempt to pop each others. Last person with an un-popped balloon wins. Then we played pin the tail on the penguin (one of the girls came up with this) and pictionary and had a personal progress lesson and watched peter pan. We also had personal interviews. For breakfast we had perfect pancakes with preserves (strawberries) and pigs in a pillow (sausage & pancakes). It was a really fun night!

Those should get you started on some ideas of your own.
