Amelie joins us

So, we went out for a nice diner at Quiznos, Mmmmmmm Toasty, and just as Janelle was half way through her meal, she felt a little contraction. We began timing the intervals to quickly find they were coming about 4-5 mins apart. Janelle was determined to get some shopping done, so we wandered next door to Publix Grocery store, and quickly the discomfort increased.

We ran home, I put the cold food in the fridge and we took this picture.
After getting to the hospital and getting all checked in, Janelle had dilated to about 5cm before Mr Epidural showed up to free her of the pain.
Once the epidural was working, we waited just a little while until she was ready to start pushing. It was only about an hours worth of pushing till Amelie felt it was time to show up. She was wide eyed and ready for food right away. Don't mind the time stamp on these photos, as they seem to be a day off. Amelie was born at 4:19am on August 18th 2010.
So I was off to the nursery with Amelie while Janelle got cleaned up and eventually brought down to the recovery room where we'd stay the next three days. This is a picture of her before her first bath... still has all that cheesy stuff on her head.

All ready to head home in her car seat, she decides to get all casual with her leg up and hand on the knee, just chilling.
So all is going well for us so far. We're learning her personality, and she is learning ours. Toby (our curious cat) is a little skeptical of this miniature human that seems to be acquiring most of her humans attention now. We're sure, in time, they will become the best of friends.
