So being the frugal me, I decided that since we are about out of diapers that I would give potty training another shot. Yep, this is shot #3.
And Lucky #3 it is!
We started on Monday. We wore panties on our bums, we wore panties on our heads - it was a fun panty day. On Monday, Amelie went pee in the potty once and had two dribbles. No full on pees but just a dribble in her panties.
Oh I should mention here, that this girl KNOWS bladder control. She can hold it for 12 hours if need be (we learned that from try #2). But she did it. We were so proud. As a reward, she got a cookie - a NEW pillow pet (giraffe) and a potty dance! Yes we dance and high five and hug and scream and shout and have a good time when she does her business on the potty!!
So Tuesday comes, and she does her little potty jig TWICE! And woke up with a TINY pee pee in her diaper! Only 1 dribble today. No pee out of the panties, but a dribble. YEA Amelie!!
So Today, as a reward (and because mom is CHEAP) we went to the zoo. We put on her special leave the house panties (pull ups) and left the house at 10:30. However from the time she woke up (7 AM) until we left, she never went pee. Then she went the ENTIRE DAY at the zoo and refused to pee. Just held it. She fell asleep in the car and I thought FOR SURE she would pee. But NOPE. She finally went pee at 4:30 PM! Holy Cow Kid! (no dribbles today either!). And then she went again before bed. And the time before bed she peed within a few seconds of being on the potty (perhaps because she was bribed with a popsicle). Either way, it got the job done!
This kid is turning out to be quite the potty pro! I am sooo proud of her. Now, pooping, well that is another story. The kid hates to poop in a diaper, let alone get her to do it in a potty. We'll see if the Kitty Pillow pet (we're bribing her with) will do the trick. Kitty watches us each day hoping to come down and play. Let's hope this progress continues and we can be at least PEE potty trained!!
