Both Ben and I have somehow managed to get through life without a broken bone. And though we hoped our children would be as awesome, Amelie is making up for lost time and at the ripe age of 21 months, got a hairline fracture on her tibia. How this happened you ask? It was an accident.
Amelie was running around after the first hour of church. Ben went to go grab her to help teach her how to be more reverent. This was not what she had in mind. As he was scooping her up, she wiggled out of his arms (from about 2 feet) and fell. Crack went the bone. Poor thing. We weren't sure what was wrong with her at the time and after 6 hours and a nap, she still wouldn't put weight on her right leg so we took her in to the emergency room.
She had a soft cast on her left for about 4 days, and a hard cast for 2 weeks. Lucky for us, it healed quickly and we were able to remove it just in time for our big move!
Trying to keep her calm before they pt the cast on. Don't be fooled by the picture, she was a hysterical mess the moment anyone walked in the door.
Right after getting the cast. We met our friends at the science museum (MOSH). Since Amelie's first boyfriend left the country, she decided to find herself another one. Aren't they adorable?! He LOVES to hold her hand.
Showing off the cast. We choose purple because at the time, it was the only color she knew and we assumed that meant it was her favorite.
