The Farm with Aubrey

Amelie made a new friend at Swim lessons. Aubrey.  Aubrey isn't from here but is here for the Summer  with her Mom.  We decided to invite them out to the farm to enjoy some time outside.

Aubrey is 6 months older than Amelie and strangely, Amelie is quite shy around her.  We stayed at the farm for 2 1/2 hours and had fun chatting, feeding the animals and eating snacks ourselves.

The day started off at 85 degrees and by the time we left it was 96!  YIKES!  Unfortunately when we got home, Amelie had developed a fever of 101.  We thought it might be heat exhaustion and took it easy all night.  Unfortunately she was still feverish with a temp of 102 by that night (Thursday night) and didn't sleep well.  The next morning her fever broke about 11 am and we were able to get her to eat a few bites of something.  However the fever came back during her nap and by that night (Friday night) she was at 102.9!  Worried, we just kept doing what we were doing.  Children's advil, cold rags on the head and a blessing.  She slept better that night but not great.  By Saturday morning she still had a temperature of 101.  Finally the fever broke again and thus far we are still fever free!

We are guessing that she picked something up as her symptoms weren't quite on par with heat exhaustion.  However, we are VERY grateful that she's doing well now!
