Road Trip: Alamosa, Colorado!

In Florida, Ben worked with the teenage boys at church for several years.  Eventually he became president of the youth boys group in our congregation.  Through his time serving these youth boys, he became very close to several of them.  Two of them eventually decided to serve missions for our church (which were the first to do so in something like 15 years!)  Both were sent to Colorado for their missions.  One in the Denver North mission and one in the Denver South mission.

Each male missionary serves for 2 years and at the end of both boy's missions, we met up with them before they went home.  We met up with Michael several months ago and now it was time to meet up with Bobby. Michael was in Loveland / Fort Collins and VERY close to us at the end of his mission.  So seeing him was a breeze.  Bobby on the other hand made it a bit more difficult.  Bobby was living in an area 5 hours south of where we live.  Despite that, we felt it was important to go see him before he left for home.  We knew that in all honesty we may never see him again and didn't want to let the opportunity pass.  So we packed up the kids and the car and took off for Alamosa, CO.

We got there later than we anticipated due to traffic and feeding stops and were not able to go to dinner with him.  However the next day we were able to go to church with him and chat afterwards for a while.

All in all, though we only got to spend a short time with him, we felt the trip was well worth the effort.  Plus Ephram got to go on his first road trip and stay in his first hotel!
