Our first family camping trip. We have never been camping as a family. But let's be honest, who would want to camp in Florida? So alas, we took off for Rocky Mountain National Forrest with some of Ben's co-workers.
Amelie encouraging daddy with setting the tent up. Go Daddy!
Checking out our new fort, er I mean, tent.
After we got the tent set up, it was time for a hike. We went down to the meadow below our campsite where there were a herd of deer. Once we got down there and sat down, Amelie immediately informed us that they were Santa's deer. How she knows that, is beyond us.
Though she is sporting some awesome hair, it's that tiny figure just past her head that caught our attention.
Time for games and campfire. A little Uno and Bingo (with prizes of course) and then campfire. Amelie loves campfires, mainly because of the marshmallow. Not s'mores, but just plain marshmallows. Mom on the other hand LOVES s'mores.
Time to test out our sleeping bags and call it a night.
The next morning. But guess who kept on sleeping. Someone wasn't ready to wake up.
After breakfast we packed up and headed into the mountains. And what is a trip without more wildlife.
The higher up we get the colder it gets. 40's and windy!
Upon Amelie seeing snow, she immediately knew what it was. She must have remembered it from last Christmas. But the funny part was, she immediately picked a handful of snow and threw it at Ben. Seriously, where does the girl get her memory! She was only 18 months the last time she saw a snowball fight.
